Into the wild heart of Osa
An 18 km guided trek from La Leona to Sirena Ranger Station through primary rainforest, coastal trails and river crossings, in Corcovado National Park on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. Spend one night in the heart of the park and return by boat to Puerto Jiménez. Small groups, certified guide.
Itinerary
Day 1 — Trek to Sirena Station
- 5:20 AM Meet your guide — in Puerto Jiménez.
- 5:40 AM 4×4 to Carate — the starting point of the hike.
- 7:00 AM Trek into Corcovado — 6–8 hours through primary rainforest, coastal trails and river crossings.
- 10:30 AM Coconut stop — fresh coconut water along the trail.
- 2:30 PM Arrive Sirena Station — settle in before sunset, deep in the heart of the park.
- 6:00 PM Dinner & overnight — at the ranger station.
Day 2 — Morning Walk & Boat Return
- 5:00 AM Optional wildlife hike — to the Sirena River, the best hour of the day for animals.
- 7:30 AM Breakfast — at Sirena Station.
- 9:00 AM Free time on the trails — around the station.
- 11:30 AM Walk to Sirena Beach — pack up and head to the boarding point.
- 12:45 PM Board the boat — at Sirena Beach.
- 2:30 PM Arrive Puerto Jiménez — approximate time.
Route options:
Hike In – Boat Out or
Boat In – Hike Out. The direction depends on tides and weather, and is confirmed before your tour date.
