12:30 PM: Arrive in Carate, where you can enjoy some fruit and snacks before heading back to Puerto Jiménez.
1:00 PM: Return to Puerto Jiménez.
Expectations
You can expect to see plenty of wildlife on the way to Carate. This route is popular for its mix of rainforest and beach areas, which provide lots of food for animals.
Look out for farms with cows and horses, as well as monkeys, deer, peccaries, sloths, scarlet macaws, toucans, and more.
It’s a great chance to take photos of animals in their natural behavior and to cool off in the refreshing rivers along the way.
