The walk from La Leona to Sirena Ranger Station within Corcovado National Park is approximately 18 kilometers. It typically takes around 6 to 8 hours to complete, depending on your pace and any stops along the way.
The trail passes through diverse ecosystems, including deep rainforest, river crossings, and open beach areas. Along the route, you may encounter various wildlife species, such as monkeys, sloths, birds, and reptiles.
It’s essential to be well-prepared with plenty of water, snacks, appropriate footwear, and insect repellent for the journey.

LOGISTIC
Day 1: Departure from Puerto Jimenez at 5:20 am
– Meet your guide at the designated meeting point.
– Board a comfortable vehicle for the journey to Carate.
– The hike begins in Carate, prepare for a 6 to 8-hour walk and enjoy some refreshing coconut water along the way.
– Witness a spectacular sunset as your signal that you’ve reached Sirena Station.
– Upon arrival at the station, freshen up and indulge in a delicious dinner.
Day 2: Optional early morning hike to the Sirena River.
– Return to the station for breakfast.
– Explore the trails around Sirena.
– Pack your belongings and head to the beach.
– 12:45 pm Boat pick-up at Sirena beach.
– Arrive in Puerto Jimenez at 2:30 pm.
